Keep On Keeping On...

Hey guys, it's been a while. I went home for my Thanksgiving Break and was super busy with family and SHOPPING the whole time, having limited chances for internet access (my dad hogs his computer and I can't get on it for more than half a minute without him kicking me off to get on). Anyways, I just wanted to let y'all know that I'm still here and I'm not giving up on my fight against bullying. It's still impacts me just as much as it did when I first created this blog and my Facebook page. My Facebook page Stand Up To Bullies still does not have as many "Likes" as I would like to have, but I am willing to take my time and effort for it to get there.

I'm still trying to update it and share it with as many people as I can. This picture just recently became the cover photo, which is something else I try to update often, as I want to share new inspirations and positive attitude as soon as someone views the page.

Anyhow, I'm sorry if this post doesn't make much sense. It's really late and I'm really tired, but I really wanted to post something before I go to bed because I feel like I've left people hanging over the last week. I've missed posting a lot!

Quality, Quantity, and Homosexuals

With what I'm doing, I believe it's important to raise awareness for each and every person that has committed suicide as a result of being bullied. Every life is important, none more than others. But, what I didn't expect is exactly the amount of "bullycides" that I would find. In 2010, it seems that the bullying of gay males was ridiculous, and I've found nine suicides as a result of this in September alone. It sickens me that people behave in such a way to make LGBT teens want to end their lives. It's like someone bullying me because I like guys. I can't help that I feel that way, just like homosexual can't help that they are attracted to people of the same sex. Even if it is something people don't agree with or if they believe it is a sin, they need to keep their mouths closed if they are going to be cruel. Yes, people are entitled to their own opinions and beliefs, but cruelty like bullying, is not the way to go about sharing them. With that being said, here are the nine young homosexual males that took their lives in September 2010:

Inspirational Pictures/Quotes:)

Don't judge someone  based on what you hear about them. Don't spread rumors. These are both characteristics of bullies.

Many people who are bullied pretend that nothing is wrong; that everything is okay; that the bullying doesn't bother them. But in reality, it bothers everyone to a certain degree. If anyone is hurting as a result of being bullied, open up. Feel free to contact me on my Facebook page Stand Up To Bullies, because I'm here for you. Holding the pain in will just make you feel worse, alone; I know because I've been there. Telling people what I was going through was the best thing I ever did for myself.

If you are ever bullied for being overweight, like I was, always keep this quote in mind. Marilyn Monroe was a beautiful woman and is a role model today. But, you know what? She wasn't a size zero...Marylin was a dress size twelve. That should make you feel better...You don't have to be skinny to be beautiful.

Think about what you say before you do. Negative comments on people, especially girls', appearance can affect them for a substantial amount of time. It's cruel and hurtful. Remember Bambi? And Thumper?

This is self-explanatory. While not everyone can see your beauty, you are beautiful. Everyone is beautiful because God made us. Instead of using our time judging others or hurting as a result of being judged, we should instead spend time worshiping and thanking him for giving you life, or pray to him to make you strong enough to handle things you never thought you could. Although we don't understand why he puts us through some things sometimes, we don't have to. God is mysterious, and I believe everything happens for a reason.
God is good.

I can't say this any better myself. Be confident in everything you do and always hold your head up high, through the good times and the bad.

This made me smile. I hope it does the same for you.

He forgot "Before you speak, think." and "Before you judge, don't."
Just saying...

Those who are being bullied are greater than their greatest obstacle in their life: the bully.

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS think  before you speak. Again, if you can't say something nice, don't say nothin' at all. Bullies need to keep Thumper in mind!

Eleven [11] Facts About Bullying

1. 56% of students have personally felt some sort of bullying at school. Between 4th and 8th grade in particular, 90% of students are victims of bullying.

2. The most common reason cited for being harassed is a student's appearance or body size. 2 out of 5 teens feel that they are bullied because of the way that they look.

3.9 out of 10 LGBT youth reported being verbally harassed at school in the past year because of their sexual orientation.

4. 1 in 4 teachers see nothing wrong with bullying and will only intervene 4% percent of the time.

5. A victim of bullying is twice as likely to take his or her own life compared to someone who is not a victim.

6. One out of 10 students drop out of school because they are bullied.

7. Physical bullying peak in middle school and declines in high school. Verbal abuse rates remain constant from elementary to high school.

8.Researchers feel that bullying should not be treated as part of growing up (with the attitude “kids will be kids").

9. 41% of principals say they have programs designed to create a safe environment for LGBT students, but only 1/3 of principals say that LGBT students would feel safe at their school.

10. 57% of students who experience harassment in school never report the incident to the school. 10% of those who do not report stay quiet because they do not believe that teachers or staff can do anything. As a result, more than a quarter of students feel that school is an unsafe place to be.

11. Schools with easily understood rules of conduct, smaller class sizes and fair discipline practices report less violence than those without such features.
